MMS Guidelines for Modern Campus Message
MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service) allows you to send images and GIFs to Contacts through Modern Campus Message in the Enterprise CRM. Follow the guidelines below to ensure optimal message delivery and recipient experience.
Supported File Types
Modern Campus Message supports the following file formats for MMS messages:
- JPEG (.jpg, .jpeg)
- PNG (.png)
- GIF (.gif)
File Size Requirements
- For optimal delivery speed and compatibility, aim for file sizes between 200 KB and 300 KB
- Individual files must not exceed 500KB
- There is a maximum of two files per message
Static Image Format Recommendations
- JPG files are preferred by most mobile carriers
- JPG (.jpg) files typically provide the best balance of image quality, file size, and compatibility across mobile carriers and devices. Some mobile carriers will convert PNG files to JPG in transit, which may result in unpredictable rendering.
- If using PNG files, remove any transparency to avoid unpredictable rendering.
- Use images that fit these common dimensions:
- Portrait images are recommended. Use dimensions such as 1080px by 1920px (9:16 aspect ratio)
- Square images: 600px by 600px (1:1 aspect ratio)
- Landscape images: 1280px by 720px (16:9 aspect ratio)
- Center all important content in the image, as they may be cropped in transit or on the recipient’s device.
- Avoid the use of text in images. Critical information should be included in the accompanying message text.
Animated GIF Format Recommendations
- Use GIFs that fit these common dimensions:
- Portrait GIFS: 480px by 720px (for less animation) or 480px by 640px (for more animation)
- Square GIFS: 640px by 640px (for less animation) or 480px by 480px (for more animation)
- Center all important content in the GIFs, as they may be cropped in transit or on the recipient’s device.

- Avoid the use of text in GIFs. Critical information should be included in the accompanying message text.
