IU SMS Consent Management
View an individual Contact’s IU SMS Consent Status
- Open a Contact record in the Enterprise CRM
- Click on the ‘Behavioral’ tab
- Under ‘IU SMS Consents’, review the Opt-in Status for each Program. A checkmark or ‘True’ means the Contact is subscribed and will receive text messages from that Modern Campus Message Program.
- Click on the record to view more details about the IU SMS Consent.
Data Dictionary – IU SMS Consent
IU SMS Consent Name – Automated unique name for the record
Contact – The Contact for whom the IU SMS Consent applies
Opt-in Status - A checkmark or ‘True’ means the Contact is subscribed and will receive text messages from that Modern Campus Message Program. An empty box or ‘False’ means the Conact is unsubscribed and will not receive text messages from that Modern Campus Message Program.
Program – The Modern Campus Message Program (Phone Number) that the Contact is subscribed or unsubscribed to receive text messages from.
Mobile Number – The current mobile number synced in Modern Campus Message for the Contact.
Last Event Double Opt-in Required – Indicates if the last opt-in event received requires the Contact to complete a Double Opt-in process
Last Event Double Opt-in Required Reason – Indicates why the double opt-in was required. Possible values: (TBD)
SIS Opt-in – Indicates if the Contact was opted in via SIS integration
HRMS Opt-in – Indicates if the Contact was opted in via HRMS integration
Global Opt-in – Indicates if the Contact completed a Global Opt-in Form
Single Form Opt-in – Indicates if the Contact completed an opt-in form specifically for this Modern Campus Message Program (Phone Number)
Bundled Code Opt-in – Indicates if the Contact completed an opt-in form for a bundle of Modern Campus Message Programs (Phone Numbers)
Device Opt-in – Indicates if the user opted in by texting ‘JOIN’ to the Modern Campus Message Program (Phone Number)
Manual (UI) - Indicates if the user was manually opted in by an administrator in the Enterprise CRM
View a contact’s IU SMS Consent activity history
- Open a Contact record in the Enterprise CRM
- Click on the ‘Behavioral’ tab
- Click on ‘SMS Consent Events’ to view details about the various opt-ins and opt-outs collected for the Contact.
Data Dictionary – SMS Consent Event
SMS Consent Event Name – Automated unique name for the record
IU SMS Consent – The parent IU SMS Consent record where the overall Opt-in Status for the Contact is stored.
Contact – The Contact for whom the SMS Consent Event was logged.
Program - The Modern Campus Message Program (Phone Number) that the Contact is opting in or out of.
Event Date – The date that the SMS Consent Event was submitted.
Event Source – The source of the SMS Consent Event.
Possible Values: SIS, HRMS, Global Opt-in, Bundled Code Opt-in, Manual (UI), Device
Event Type – Indicates if the action was opting the Contact in or out (subscribing or unsubscribing)
Reporting on IU SMS Consent
To view how many Contacts are opted-in and opted-out of your Modern Campus Message Program (Phone Number), create a report using the report type ‘Contacts with IU SMS Consents’
- After logging into the Enterprise CRM, open ‘Reports’
- Click ‘New Report’
- Under Category, switch to the ‘All’ category
- Search for the report type ‘Contacts with IU SMS Consents’
- Select the report type and click ‘Start Report’
- Switch to the ‘Filters’ tab
- On the ‘Filters’ tab, add a filter for ‘Program’
- For the Operator use ‘equals’
- In the text box, enter your Queue Name / Program Name (e.g. UA-VPIT-IUCRM)
- Click Apply.
- Change the Show Me filter to ‘All Contacts’
- Change the Birthdate filter to ‘Created Date’ and the Range to ‘All Time’
- Apply Filters for Opt-in Status or other fields as desired.
Reporting on SMS Consent Event
To view details about the types of opt-in and opt-out activities occurring for your Modern Campus Message Program (Phone Number), create a report using the report type ‘SMS Consent Events’
- After logging into the Enterprise CRM, open ‘Reports’
- Click ‘New Report’
- Under Category, switch to the ‘All’ category
- Search for the report type ‘SMs Consent Events’
- Select the report type and click ‘Start Report’
- Switch to the ‘Filters’ tab
- On the ‘Filters’ tab, add a filter for ‘Program’
- For the Operator use ‘equals’
- In the text box, enter your Queue Name / Program Name (e.g. UA-VPIT-IUCRM)
- Click Apply.
- Change the Show Me filter to ‘All Contacts’
- Apply Filters for Event Type or other fields as desired.
